Sign Language Clubs on secondary schools in Tanzania
Sign Language Clubs on secondary schools in Tanzania, to integrate hearing and hearing impaired students. A wonderful initiative of OSNET (Organisation of Special Needs Education Teachers) we love to cooperate with
In Tanzania there are several secondary schools that now teach deaf and hearing students within one school community. Enthusiastic teachers from these schools have set up Sign language clubs to encourage hearing pupils to learn sign language and improve communication between hearing and deaf pupils. This promotes the well-being of the deaf and hearing students at the schools and the associated boarding schools.
These clubs are also a place to make the young people resilient, to let them come into contact with deaf culture and to just make it fun at school.
We cooperate with Wilfred Serikali, coordinator of OSNET. Together we work on the development of teaching materials and knowledge exchange.
