Developing knowledge and practical skills to support those with a dual sensory impairment
The Deafblind Program of the Royal Kentalis focuses on the most important theory around Deafblindness and the practical skills to support and guide deafblind people in their daily lives, at school or at work.
Video Interaction Guidance
Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) is an effective method to work on positive communication skills through filming and reflection sessions. Via micro-analysing the students are guided in a parallel process in which they learn to directly apply their learning results in practice. VIG train people to create successful interactions that enables someone to grow.
Parent Awareness Program
The Parent Awareness Program, also called PAP, is aiming at (hearing) parents with deaf children who have very little to no access to relevant information about how to communicate with their deaf child. In 12 modules of around 4 hours/module, parents are introduced to relevant information regarding the development of their deaf child and the important role of the parent as educator of the child
Vocabulary training, supported by visualization techniques
Communication plays a major role in the education of pupils with communication challenges. A rich vocabulary is an important key factor and a predictor of school success. In this course you will learn how to expand the vocabulary of a child and the added value of visualization techniques.
Language acquisition of young children with hearing and communication challenges
The course Let’s communicate is an eye opener for professionals and parents how to communicate effectively with a child (3-6 years) with hearing and communication challenges and promises new skills and techniques to improve and acquire language development.

Dutch Private Initatives
More and more Dutch citizens sets up (small scaled) private initiatives in civil society. The so called Particuliere Initiatieven (PI). We are happy to cooperate with private initiatives and work together in creating opportunities for people with a hearing status, deafblindness, or a developmental language disorder.
